Break A Leg
Break A LegDiscarded Theater Curtain Leg from St. Pete Little Theater Acrylic,  Polycrylic  20" x 30"AVAILABLE"Vaudeville performers would only be paid if they performed on stage.  Wishing them “break a leg” meant literally to surpass the theater curtains, also called “legs”, to make it on stage. In Shakespeare times “break a leg” was to bend a leg to take a bow. In Elizabethan times instead of clapping, audiences would bang their chairs often times breaking the leg of a chair."
